Registrar-General Tobaiwa Mudede in his opposing papers in the case involving local journalist Violet Gonda denies refusing her a Zimbabwean passport.
Gonda approached the High Court seeking redress after she was denied a passport because she was on a “stop list.”
In his opposing affidavit, Mudede stated that his office had not denied Gonda a passport. He also denied that she was placed on any government blacklist for her journalistic activities.
It should be noted that Mudede opposed the court application, he does not oppose the fact that she should get a Zimbabwean passport.
This development brings the matter one step closer to finality and resolution.
