The trial of journalist Hopewell Chin’ono on charges of incitement to commit public violence kicked off at the Magistrates Court in Harare on 17 May 2021.
According to Tweets by his lawyers, Chin’ono pleaded not guilty and excepted to the charges on the basis that they do not disclose an offence.
Following arguments on the exception to the charges by both the defence and the prosecution, the trial magistrate indicated that she will make her ruling at 2.15 pm on Wednesday, 19 May 2021.
